Key West Songwriter's Festival

Musicians, music lovers, and songwriters should all be racing to Key West for this number one music festival in South Florida. This is the number one festival for people to discover up and coming musicians and music artists that flock to Key West for a showcase of what they have to offer. The Key West Songwriters Festivals is a one of a kind festival that the whole family could agree on for a Key West vacation. This festival is the one place there will be a Grammy, CMA and ACM award winning musicians and songwriters, and all in one room.

Every year, Key West plays host to one of the biggest music events of the United States, and it’s line-up is always changing. The Key West Songwriters Festival has over a hundred performers each year, and has been around for about 20 years now and the support is still growing. This has been known as the festival for songwriters to get some recognition and possibly picked up for discovery by a label, or record contract of their own.

Over the course of five days in May, this festival is naturally started by a kick off concert event on the Sunset Pier (subject to change each year). The entire island of Key West will have over 50 free shows for onlookers to enjoy the original music of the musicians from around the world. The big showcase is on Duval Street, when the famous street is closed off for the big free concert which has had celebrity songwriters and performers on it’s stage, such as Sara Evans and Jeff Hanna. This event alone has attracted about 5,000 people in past festival concerts.

All of the shows of the Key West Songwriters Festivals will be held at various Key West restaurants, bars and businesses around the island, with many of them being free admission. Normally, the performers are rotating between the listed venues, so onlookers can stay at one place to see a lot of the songwriters perform. The headquarters of the event is the Smokin’ Tuna Saloon, and will be one of the many venues to find the live music.

The Songwriters’ Fest is also a great way to support a good cause. This festival is very serious about raising awareness and benefiting the Shepherd Center’s SHARE Military Initiative. This organization helps with rehabilitation for service members with traumatic brain injury and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).

And the best part is, if guests of this event need a break from the island, we make it easy to do a Key West snorkeling tour, or a to hop on a Key West dinner cruise. For more information on the dates and info of the upcoming festival, visit the official Key West Songwriters Festival website.
