Visit the back country waters of the Florida Keys to explore what has been named the "Dolphin Playground." This is a general area to the north of Key West in the Gulf of Mexico where the largest population of Key West bottlenose dolphins live, play, and interact. With the Key West Wild Dolphin Sail and Snorkel adventure, you and your group can hop on our luxurious sailing catamaran vessel to visit the dolphins' home.
What is great about the dolphin tours in Key West is that these dolphins are wild and free. They live in their natural habitat and are free to roam as far and as wide as they please. These are not the captive dolphins that live in small, enclosed tanks. These are happy dolphins that live as nature intended them to. Seeing wild dolphins out in their natural habitat is a delightful experience. Key West is home to thousands of dolphins. In fact, on any given day, it is easy to spot dolphins off the coast of Key West. But with the Wild Dolphin Sail and Snorkel tour, we take you to the heart of the dolphin population off the coast of Key West. On any given trip, you are likely to see dozens of dolphins, usually in small groups as these creatures are highly social and travel in packs.
They also love to socialize with humans and it is very common for these creatures to swim right up to our boat to charm you with their playful behavior. Have your cameras ready throughout the trip, especially if the dolphins decide to come right up to our boat!
The second half of this trip takes you to one of the area's premiere snorkeling destinations. We typically go to the remains of an old shipwreck, located in shallow waters that are prime for snorkeling. If the conditions are not so great at the shipwreck site, then we will take you to one of the best coral reef sites where you can take a look at hundreds of fascinating and lively marine creatures who make their home among the coral. This tour is consistently rated as one of the top Key West excursions. Our team is 100% dedicated to your comfort and pleasure and we only take a maximum of 14 people on any given trip. This also means that space is limited so make your reservations early!
Will you be in the water with the dolphins?
Since the dolphins are a protected species, we will encounter them as close as possible, from the boat. Often times they're close enough to touch, alongside the boat.
What is the size of the boat?
This sailing catamaran boat is 28 feet. The boat is licensed to hold up to 28 passengers but we never take more than 14.
What is the weather cancellation policy?
If the activity must be cancelled due to bad weather, and you cannot reschedule, you will be issued a full refund.
